So, that's how your spreading good will?

If each religion believed that any individual who did not believe in their religion would go to hell, then according to that structure of belief, we are all going to hell.

If that were the case, then hell would be full and heaven would be empty. Therefore we would no longer have a need for heaven and the God of our belief would become nonexistant for the lack of belief in Him.

So, simply because I do not share the belief of another, in the structure of their organization that they have chosen to affiliate themselves with, does not mean that my own beliefs are inadequate, nonessential, unvalid or anyother thing.

It simply means that my beliefs are different and I am well within my right to believe any thing I choose just as I am well within my right according to scripture to not judge another for not believing in the same thing.

Jesus, in His infinite wisdom, did not force anyone to listen to His gospel. He taught those who desired to listen.

He did not, like the inquisition, torture any human being who chose to oppose Him, or chose to believe differently then what He taught.

We should all live by His example even if we choose not to live by His truths.

Obviously, you don't know the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those who aren't baptized, regardless of their circumstance will never go to heaven.

This is the religion of Utah, by the way, a state that voted as a block with the highest majority in the country to support a president who lied in order to expand imperially into a soveriegn nation against international law.

They're going to hell for sure.

My uncle is a hard shell Baptist preacher, and he claims that if I do not belong to his church I will go to hell as well.

I have spoke to the methodist, other baptist churches and several other denomenations as well. They all seem to reitterate the same thing.. that if I don't belong to their church I will go to hell. Which tells me that there is no true Christian church on earth if they all believe that if you dont belong to their particular organization, you will go to hell.

So belonging to the LDS Church is no different then belonging to another denomination of the Christian faith. It is a matter of choice.

I do not believe that one religion is better then another except for the individuals that choose to belong to them. Each has their own path to walk and like going from one city to another, there are many roads to get there and even if you take the scenic route, you will get there all the same. Faith is an individual practice. It is not dictated by anyone or anything, only guided.

Are you a currently active sister.

I am troubled by your contentious rhetoric. I don't sense any kindness in your words. If you are searching for the salvation of all man kind as Jesus Christ did should you not follow his teachings, and do so with love?
          • Re: You all know

            Mon, December 6, 2004 - 7:02 PM
No, I am not an active sister, but I do try to treat others with love.

I was simply responding from a viewpoint that encompasses all resigions and from what I have viewed from interacting with several churches from my experiences as well as speaking to many ppl from many different denominations.

These were not my personal view points necessarily.. but reflect the view point of several ppl.

Many churches believe that if you do not belong to their particular denomination that you will go to hell. This does not seem like a very Christian concept to me.

I am very puzzled as to why, if there was ONE Christ.. Why are there so many different Christian churches all proclaiming to teach Christs words. Yet the various religious teachings I have read and heard, do not necessarily reflect His gospel, His teachings, nor His lifestyle preferences.

There are over 26 versions of the Bible in print in English today. PPl claim that the Bible is the Truth.. but which version? Theirs???

I have been a member of the church since I was 12, and have had many different friends and family members who were not. They belonged to different denominations or none at all.

I have spoke to various religious heads with whom I have asked two simple questions and recieved many different answers to.. So remain confused.

My two questions are simply this: What is a Christian.. and what is the Trinity..

I had one pastor go thru the Bible and quote scripture telling me that because of the church I DID belong to and not his church that I was not only going to hell, but was an evil person.

What does this type of behavoir teach our children...

What does it teach our children when two ppl who believe differently do not simply agree to disagree, but go to war over their beliefs.

I have ppl whom I dearly love who are not LDS. Some are of of different Christian denomenations, some are pagan, some are heathen, some are many different other faiths. I don't hold that against them.. It is their way.. It is not my way. And what they believe does not influence me.

My beliefs are well grounded, but that does not mean that I do not look at the world from a global stand point and wonder why Christianity has become so complicated in this day and age.

It is like unto the time of Joseph Smith where as all the churches are crying for ppl to come to them. They are like elaborate sales men trying to sell used cars.. It is sad to me....

We sell Christianity like a commodity..

Truly, what would our Savoir think of our Christian society today..

I'm sorry Gypsy Star. I was actually directing that post to Sister Mary Kate.

I agree that "Many churches believe that if you do not belong to their particular denomination that you will go to hell. This does not seem like a very Christian concept to me."

It brings to mind that 11th article of faith: "We claim the priviledge of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same priviledge, let them worship how, where or what they may."

I was BIC. I have been wandering this great earth seeking truth and enlightenment. All the truths I had learned as a child ring true now and forever. This earth is full of many great truths but most have been skewed to a lower degree of righteousness falling away from their original intention. I never remember being told I would go to hell for neot being baptised into the church. As I remember learnig I would not immediately find myself surrounded by the righteous minded individuals. Yes we are each to seek our own path of righteousness. To be a "christian" I find demeaning a Label. I have no intention of forcing my views on to other threatening life for passivity.
I instead choose to follow the example which was lead by Jesus while he was here. Love one another, be in service to your fellow man etc. His great teachings are infinite in their wisdom and those who understand truely what he meant in his teachings are going to find themselves having a pure enjoyable life free of contention.

My life as it were is up in the air I have no thing grounding me in one spot after my commitment to take care of the house I am staying in right now. i have faith that I will know what and where I can best serve the Lord our God.

"There can be only one Neo"

Sister Kate I have a dear friend whom you may enjoy communicating with. Her name is Fran she grew up in Manchester and spent most of her life dedicated to the God of Catholic faith same God different perspective. She has begun to break free of thechains she had bound herself in limiting her potential and is helping many people in the Sacramento area to heal themselves from their overborn emotions. The feelings of guilt and shame are beginning to be free from her person as she is able to free others from their own demons. She is a clinical sexologist. Ironic while the 60 were going on and "FREE LOVE" was so popular she was a nun. Now she is a doctor helping those who were preaching about false love to free themselves of their sinful perceptions.

So you all know you are free to do as you wish think as you do and do as you will. You have no one to answerr to but yourself. The hell that is a real threat is knowing after the fact that you have lowered your own perception to match that which was lowerr than what Christ taught while he was here and continues to share wiht the world throuhg those who understand we are All made in the like ness of God.

Enlightenment is not the fillig of a pail but the lighting of a fire!
So enlightened souls are ones who realize that they are just on a joourney to learn all they can in this lifetime and to live like Christ in service with charity for all. Which I believe are teh keys to happiness in life. If Sister ws here she is insearch of truth because all I know from that other faith have realized they were washed to hate so much about life and themselves. I do not believe that we teach about any doubts or shame only LOVE for each other especially those who do not love them selves. Service is the point of life.Who are here friends? Are you not her friend. i do not know her but I would not turn my back to help her in anyway I could. i do not know her from this life but I LOVE her. I love you as well my brother. I even love thsoe who would haev me put to death for speaking my heart and mind as I was born to do.
Enlightened sould look like those who are seeking to be all that they were designed to be and to do all that they were designed to do. Live in the Light for the Love of Liberty.

hmm, i personaly do not agree with the idea of self sacrifice. I was once told that we have been made into cattle, so that others may feed on our energy. in order to get the most out of livestock, a system of rewards and punishments is given to the animals.

someday maybe each of us will have our own planet. thats if we pay tithe, serve and take care of other cattle, and create lots and lots of other cattle.

its not like i have any way to get out of this pin we are in, but i feel the bars of my cage.

I've heard it said "Don't believe everything you hear". Just because someone told you their point of view doesn't make it a universal truth.

Whether you believe in self sacrifice or not I think the goal should be to better ourselves and the world around us. To make a positive difference in our day to day lives.

The bars of your cage are only as strong as you allow them to be.

Now these are my views and mine alone. But I hope that this different view helps in some way.

As they say what do we "know" but what we perceive of that which is presented. Who is the presenter? Look Deep do SEE what you seek to be? What IS life? BELIEVE is IS the Heart for all to SEE! The eyes doth not LIE. The messages from those we we reflect up are transcribed by feelings we choose to block out. Perceptions presented seek purity in options. We choose who we are not by our company to all a great light shineth forward for the shifts occur quickly as the night turns to day. SEEK THAT WHICH YOU ARE!

LIVE in the LIGHT for the LOVE of LIBERTY.

I hope you find what your truly looking for. I also hope that it brings you great happiness.

          Well sister full of hate.

I had this wiced evil catholic church, foced onto me. So in my search for a church of christ. I did look up the Mormons. I was learning from them. No matter what religion one followes. If the stay on the rood, they too have a chance to make it to heaven. Not only Mormons can get to heaven

Oh the Mormons were also very big on teaching, not to speak bad of other religions.

Gee's how I thank our father in Heaven. That the Catholics are no more a supper power, Yet via politics, it tis able to rape sould no no catholic countrys such as Oz, as well catholic countrys too.

WOW< I would have expected better of you.

By stating that we are going to Hell, were you hoping to have people you know join you?

You should concentrate on your chosen path rather than condeming others, that is not your place. That is God's Place. Didn't God punish Moses for placing himself on the same level as God? By judging us, you do the same.

When you die, we will pray for you and be baptised for you.

Nice to see that one of your two friends is a Sex and Drugs interest.

Maybe you should worry about her. We're all just fine. We'll make sure you are Baptised as Mormon after you die.
Now doesn't that sit well with you?

Jesus taught compassion and love for one another. Before he "left" to return unto His Father, he told His desciples to love one another as I have loved you..

If all ppl did as Jesus DID and taught instead of getting caught up in personalities and religious disputes then the world would be a much better place.

We all have opinions.. None of us are perfect. When a Perfected being walked among us, He was crucified. (regardless of whether it was foreordained, prophecied, or His will) It happened.

We have, every day of our lives, the option of making the decision as to how we treat one another. No one person is any better or any worst then another. They may be different. They may believe something different, but their beliefs don't make them any more right or wrong then another person. It just makes them different.

Hugs and blessings to you all. May your life be filled with the Savoir's love.

(and yes, I belong to many diverse tribes. I was invited to most of them. I joined some of them because of who invited me.)

Your goin to hell. Well luvie, Mormons don't have a hell. So they don't have a hell to put the fear into children,

Nor do Mormons send inocent children to hell, as the catholics do!

lets not forget all those nunes and priest, over the past 2000 years, and all the souls they have raped, and the children they have molested.

The catholics was the worlds first religious terrorist. group,. No all those micks will be in hell before the Mormons.

Oh and as a child born. I had no choice, when I had this evil religion catholicism forced onto me.

Mormons give a person untill they are 8 to think about it. But if the Catholics did this. Their religon would die, ever faster tahn it 'tis.

Just as latin is a dead language, the catolic church, is dying too. Praise Gad.

what did God mean when he let this happen to you..?
Did he even remember you..? forget about him and live in this heaven now
he did'nt save you then and he won't save you now..only you can become a God here

Re: as for those of you who have been abused..
What did God mean when he let this happen to you..?

I am a survivor of torture. God did not make this happen to me, or let it. My vessal, into a life of hell, made this happen, and because he has given us the freedom of choice, how could he stop her. This is her sin, and since she has not payed for the rape of my soul, or the murder of my one and only childhood. For this she will go to hell, and no for being a Mormon, or even a catholic terrorist.

God dose not make retards either.

Our father in Heaven, my not of stiped my soul from being raped, or my childhood murdered. But there is some power, that has helped me, have a ,life that I live now, that I shold not of lived.

I did ask, beg for help, and help was to come.

This has nothing to do with religion, but faith. A lot of so called christains would tell me I am going to hell, because I have crowen up to be a fag.

But if my childhood, had not of been what it was, I may not of looked at being molested of tender touch; love. Therefor not growen up to be a fag. This too has stoped me from being a christain, a mormon too.

But I know the power, dose not hate me coz I am a fag. Nor if there is a hell, willl I be going to hell, just coz I am a fag; lot of christains already there, well before me; popes too.

But then nobody understands me like my dogs.......

Narr, i'm not gonna go to spell check hell, coz, I'm there. As for gramma. not much help there either. I've walked those streets, of Salt lake City, and been shopin too. Gee's, they was lookin at me, as if I was talkin aboriginal or something.

But If there is a hell, I am sure I may well end up there; my bed has been made, and since i've been a divorcing my whole family, I'll be sleepin alone too... Their is no such thing as hell..i was very moved days ago over this when i heard it from a so called teacher of God a pastor on tv none the less..having been given the ability to see those on the other side, and knowing all that i know i have to give you and make you really understand that their is no such thing as a place called "hell"....God our source did not create this place of fire, actually the truth is that we as spirits/energies incarnate, this happens in order for all of us to complete our learning (you might say) if we missed what we came to learn while living a human life. God is a wonderful, loving father to all his spirit children, why would we go to hell when we have been given another opportunity to make it right again...their is so much garbage being taught on this Earth that is only to instill fear in all of us, this is another ignorance tactic from all who are teaching this as spirits living a human life...another misconception of our Source who is God, is that he is not wrathful as so many believe that he is..the world is in the state that it is because we keep seeing each other different only because we have been born into different culture, relgiion, or color of skin, which is detrimental to consider each one of us separated when as spirit children, after this life we all go back to the same loving place...i have seen and still see how much love, and service those on the other side constantly do for all of us, how they protect us from those negative energies who impose their suggestions thru thoughts in order to stray us wrong, and we follow it...these loving spirits/energies are our families, our friends, who are no longer with us, and whom i also consider them part of my family on the other side for their is where we all have come from and will be going back after this life...you have no idea how attentive they are on the other side with each one of us, so how is it that they do for us constantly and they do not separate from us and do not see themselves divided with us here but yet we see ourselves divided here and do to each other the most horrendous acts as well...war is the most detrimental act upon this Earth, it only brings more fear, hatred, doubt, less hope for this that have been touch by this awful act...it amazes me how much emphasis we place on things like hell, instead of working to make ourselves change and help others in the process of creating a better Earth place to live...negativity holds all of us back, and that is hatred, envy, racism, prejudice, and all of everything that falls under this...we need to see each other as we truly as spirits, and all children of God.
Their is no difference on the other side, and we do not treat each other like we do here...I have seen myself out of body twice, and have had the most beautiful spiritual experiences, everyone has the same ability...i must make you understand that we are mostly spirits/energies, and our lives here are temporary, is hard at times to imagine this, but this is truth...Miriam
